Minoru Nomata Visions March 3-25/March 8-11, 2018

In March 2018, we will present two exhibitions by Minoru Nomata, at Bohemian’s Gallery and Art Fair Tokyo 2018.

Since his first exhibition in 1986, Minoru Nomata has been creating an alternative world with imaginary architecture through various expression methods such as paintings, drawings, lithographs, and three-dimensional works. He is known as an artist of imaginary architecture, not only in Japan, but also overseas. He has been widely active in commissioned works, cover art for books and CDs, as well as a number of solo exhibitions and group shows.

From March 3rd-25th, the exhibition at Bohemian’s Gallery, titled, “Minoru Nomata Visions 1988-2018,” will show his artwork over a timespan of 30 years. It includes the original artwork from the “Square Drawing” series, which was published weekly from 2011 to 2015 for The Asahi Shimbun, hand-colored lithographs from his early years, and some of his recent paintings on canvas.

For four days, from March 8th-11th, at the Bohemian’s Guild Booth at Art Fair Tokyo 2018, we will exhibit the serial works “Light Structures” and “Skyglow,” which were produced with light as the theme, as well as his first oil painting series, “Ghost,” and one new painting. Please enjoy the both of these exhibitions.
